YOU’RE ALIVE BECAUSE YOU MATTER
The theme today is all about creating. I’m 39 years old, just months from turning 40 and I still feel the need to create. Sometimes, like now, I get a few thoughts of, “aren’t you too old,” or “what do you have to offer?”
While cycling today, I heard this story from J Balvin. He shared how he nearly died in a plane crash. There were six people on the plane when it crashed and everyone survived. The people working at the airport where they were in the Bahamas commented, “you are the first plane who have lived when they crashed here.”
J Balvin took this to heart big time. Later that day he received a call from Pharrell Williams who said, “you are here on purpose. Everything happens for a reason.”
After I heard this comment from Pharrell, I became very still. I paused, I thought about it and how it applied to my life. So many times in my day, week or month I wonder, “do I matter?” Then I wonder, “why me and not someone else?”
What about you? When was the last time you thought about how much “you matter?” When was the last time you told yourself, “I’m here for a reason. I matter and everything is working out for me?”
They seem like daunting questions, however, they are life tranforming. Imagine shifting your thinking to, “why am I here to I’m here because …” You’re here because you matter, your voice matters, your energy matters and life is better because of it.
My takeaway here to start my day is remembering that I do matter. Today has been designed with me in it. That’s pretty awesome. It’s even more amazing when you start to include yourself and your dreams into this spectacular day.
