Worry Conversion

Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.

If God is bigger, greater or smarter than you, then why not trust?

For me, it’s because I haven’t experienced enough to trust.

Or, as a human, I know how I can act toward situations or problems.

Our intuition seeks negativity.

God calls on this tendency and asks for something more.

He says to ‘trust’.

But how do you do that?

I guess, you start with including God in your thought process.

Maybe something like, “God, you know my daughter is sick. You know I don’t like it. You know it hurts me. Please God, help me, help us. Maybe I need an idea. Maybe I need to have patience, but I know I don’t have the answer. I’ll leave it with you.”

I love that the verse says, ‘let your praises shape your worries’.

This word ‘shape’ is a verb. It’s an action word.

It’s calling us to craft and rebuild our worry into prayers.

To me, it’s like manufacturing.

You have a raw product.

The raw product is worry.

Worry can be shaped into total fear or a hole of depression.

It can also be shaped into wins or gratefulness.

We can train our worry to be shaped into prayer which turns to peace.

Guess you just have to ask yourself, “what kind of day do I want to have?”

Peace or Fear …

The finale of the verse is so rainbows and unicorns.

It says, “It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.”

What an amazing image.

You have worry, great.

Let’s displace it and manufacture it into prayer.

And, all I need to do is include God into the process.

I’m terrible at it, yet it’s so simple.
