THIS IS HOW TO UNCOVER WHAT YOU FEAR THE MOST AND IT SUCKS WHEN YOU DO

‘So now wrap your heart tightly around the hope that lives within us, knowing that God always keeps his promises! ‘ Hebrews 10:23

If you live in California, like myself — you realize people are hyper sensitive. Not only are they hyper sensitive but also very “flaky.” You know the ones. , The people who need to weigh their offers before committing to doing anything. They give you a vague answer — so they don’t hurt anyone’s feelings.

Most of the time I feel like I’m trying to complete an obstacle course just to figure out what people are doing or saying. This is where it’s super helpful to have some Biblical wisdom to set your day, “let your yes be yes and your no be no.”

After years and years of this behavior, it can affect how you think about all people — even God. Take this verse as an example as it says, “God always keeps his promises.”

That’s a big line — like WTF — I know that’s not true.

You’re probably listing off promises that have not been kept. You may feel some sting toward this statement. Maybe even betrayed.

So, what do you do?

Do you carry on and believe what the Bible says — or do you cut that part out and say, “that’s not for me.”

I sure wish many promises would have happened that I was believing for. Whether it was friends and family who were sick, children who died before their time, lost money due to unfortunate events — there COULD be hundreds of promises that look unfulfilled.

And that would be if everything went according to MY PLAN.

However, we are not on MY PLAN — we are on GOD’S PLAN.

When I get back to God’s Plan I have to remember all of the promises I have seen fulfilled. And, the one’s which have not — that’s God’s plan too. Not everything is Grand Slam breakfasts and chapagne toasts for lunch.

The Bible clearly calls out — “when you face trials and tribulations — count it all joy.”

What a roller coaster of emotions.

Imagine going from the blessings of God to trials and still remain joyful. Sounds very similar to a Winston Churchill line, “Sucess is the ability to go from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm.”

I can’t control the promises that God keeps. What I can control is putting my trust and hope in God. And, putting hope in the invisible — in something I cannot control — seems really f’d up. It seems impossible. It almost seems foolish to actually believe that.

‘But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; ‘ I Corinthians 1:27

So, how do you know if you trust God? Or, maybe I can put it like this — what area in your life do you NOT trust God?

Wherever you uncover fear — you will also discover a lack of trust in God. For me, fear attacks me in the area of providing for my family.

I dont’ mean provide like food and shelter. What I mean in providing for my family is a “more than enough” lifestyle. The ability to be hospitable to others or to take the family around the world to see different cultures.

I would worry, stress and then strive to make things happen for my family. Yes, it’s a dream of mine to do those things for my family but not at the expense of leaving God out of the equation.

What I’ve done instead is prepare for those moments. I prepare by looking after my finances. I don’t want my bad decisions with money to hold me back from any blessings.

I prepare by using my time to build upon skills or add new skills. Writing is a new skill I’m developing. I’ve done it from time to time but never consistently. By adding this skill — I’m adding more opportunities.

I prepare by spending time with my family and enjoying the daily grind. Yes, it’s a grind — yes, there’s attitudes that go crazy sometimes. But, I’m thankful for them. I’m thankful for healthy kids, a place to live and food in the fridge. It seems mundane but I believe that is where the MAGIC is created.

God used dust to create us. Why can’t we use the same formula to create the greatness we see in our minds? I believe we can. I believe God wants us to believe for great things — that include Him in the equation.
