To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe. Anatole France

We have all had dreams. Like you, I feel like I’ve done the work from time to time on them. Then, life gets in the way and BURIES them again. I’ve discovered, the dreams are not gone. They are only sleeping.

I want to remind you to wake them up. Uncover what was buried. Breathe life into those skeletons. Wake them up! And, if you say, “yah but those dreams are dead.” I’d respond by saying, “then dream some more till you create another idea.

No human is any better or more talented than you are. It’s not about competing with your Instagram feed but rather your own FEAR. Yes, fear is scary. It’s daunting and painful, but it’s no greater than you. Fear is only an indicator, nothing more.

Listen for the whispers of your dream. Get still in your day. Set time aside to listen to those skeletons. They are waiting for you. And, when they do speak, here’s a few things that have helped me to get my dreams back on track.

  1. Be still. Listen and do the work to uncover your dream. Re-read old journals, lean into those things which inspire you. Breathe and remove any distractions or competition which does not fuel your dream.
  2. Document the process. Create a paper trail for your dream. Where does your dream take you? Document how small you are now. We all start with a tiny audience but down the road, you can look back and see how far you’ve come.
  3. Take action today. One small step toward your dream. Read that book. Buy those supplies you need. Call that mentor or friend. I recently committed to becoming a better speaker by signing up for Toastmasters. It’s a small step, but it’s something.
  4. Smile. You’re f’n alive. Remind yourself of what you do have. Greatness is inside of you.

See you out there. — Anthony
