I DON’T HAVE A JOB, I’M SCARED, WHAT DO I DO?
‘I am convinced that my God will fully satisfy every need you have, for I have seen the abundant riches of glory revealed to me through the Anointed One, Jesus Christ! ‘ Philippians 4:19 TPT
‘And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. ‘ Philippians 4:19
More than 3 million Americans lost their job last week. Bam, just like that, you’re daily flow of cash gone. It sucks, but whatever you do, you can’t take it personal. There always is some sort of silver lining — you just have to find it.
A few years back, our family moved to Australia. It was just the 4 of us then. It was the best move for our family. I figured my job resumé was pretty good in the USA and would transfer well to Australia — I was wrong.
We arrived and stayed with my father in a law for awhile. I tried to secure work. It was all 4 of us in 1 bedroom. It was a tight squeeze. I was doing everything I could to land a job. I had great interviews, but nothing clicked.
3 months into the job search, I was on a bus, heading to an interview when I felt this little idea drop into my heart. The idea was, “what if you started selling yourself instead of your resume”.
I was stuck and no money was coming in. We were burning through our savings but I decided that day to start my own business. I didn’t even really know what that meant or how to do it — I just did it.
It was a miracle moment for our family. The business got off the ground, I nailed down some clients and life turned around dramatically.
If you lost your job — first of all, I’m praying WITH you. I know how dark it can feel. It’s hopeless. If you have a family, you feel even more weight. It really, really sucks. It f’n HURTS. And that feeling can minimize your vision and you definitely don’t want that.
One of the things you have right now is time.
“Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin.” ― Mother Theresa
The silver lining is time and that God is a f’n G. Like “G” as in capital “G”.
I love how Paul writes this bit when he says, “my God”. When he says, “my God”, I feel like what he’s really saying is, “my guy”.
The relationship they have is like a friend. Like the friend we all have who has tickets to sports games or shoe connections. We say, “my guy has the hookup, let me hit him up.”
Paul has major trust in God because he has personally seen God come thru. If you are in this season of job loss or sickness or worry, now is the time to link up with people who have been there and seen it before. You need their faith sometimes to jump start your faith.
If you need people like this, send them a text now — ask for help. Don’t do this sh** alone.
As your trust in God grows, you’ll start to see what Paul is writing about. Instead of “my God”, you’ll start to read it like, “my guy”. And, when that happens, that peace of God will come 💧 ‘n your way.
Let’s finish this thing up with some strength.
You can do all things through Christ.
You do have the mind of Christ.
God’s face is shining upon you.
He is for you.
You are the head and not the tail.
You’re a leader — designed for this moment.
Nothing can separate you from God’s love.
Dangit, I’ve got the kids all over me again. Lior is potty training and is about to 💩 on the floor. I’ve got to run — I’m sorry I can’t dish out any more pump ups, but keep crushing!
Let’s pray:
Jesus, you have me on this Earth for a reason. I may be in a tough season but you’re peace is around me. I need that, big time. Give me wisdom for the day. Understanding in all my dealing. Guard my heart and grant me the strength to carry on. I know Greatness is upon me. Amen.
