HOW I MAX OUT MY BRAIN FOR POSSIBILITY

‘Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.”’ Matthew 19:26

Miracles are impossible. Dreams are impossible. My potential is impossible. The cure for Covid-19 is impossible. Not being afraid during this time is impossible. Loving your spouse is impossible. Loving your kids is impossible. Being generous is impossible. Everything that is great — is impossible.

“It always seems impossible until it’s done.” — Nelson Mandela

I guess the question to me is, “how do you go from thinking something is impossible to being possible?”

Put in the work 💪

Whether you believe in the 10,000 hour rule (search 10,000 rule) or not is still debatable. What’s not debatable is “mastery.” Whatever task seems impossible is only matched by the ability to put in the work to make it possible.

When I watch athletes like Jordan, Kobe or Lebron — at the end of the day — they put in the work. They stay late — study opponents — and strengthen their mind. Their confidence continues to build as they work toward their goal.

When a reporter asks Michael Jordan who should take the last shot of the game (while he was a member of the ’92 Olympic Dream Team), his response was simple — “me.” That’s it — he knew what he wanted. He wanted the impossible moment because he put in the work.

I’m constantly focused on winning. And, sometimes in my job it’s hard to define a win — so this is what I do instead. I read about winners. I watch stories of winners. I let that inspire me — and many of the times — new ideas are forged. It’s through my search for knowledge and to be the best that innovation is born. And that to me is really f’n awesome. 💪

Train your brain 🧠

It’s a muscle. If you leave it to itself — it’s going to train itself. It’s only because of your goals and consistency that your brain will become the super power it is created to be. Your brain has limitless potential — it’s up to you how you use it.

What do you invest towards your brain? What subscriptions in your life are dedicated to increasing your brain capacity — your dream capacity? How many hours a week do you put critical thinking to the test?

If we are not faithful with what we’ve already been given — why would God give you any more? If you think you can’t handle your current situation — why would there be any type of promotion?

If the Bible says we have the “mind of Christ,” then where is it? If the same power of Jesus is inside of us — then WHERE THE F IS IT? Don’t get me started on this one. There is no excuses in winning. There is no excuses in becoming all that God has crafted you to be.

It’s no one’s fault — except your own.

Let me give a quick example. Sometimes investing for me with the family is shutting off the TV. If I’m being honest, on May the 4th — we crushed three episodes of Star Wars — as you do. It was a bit of an overload — but it’s something we all enjoy. That was not an example of shutting OFF the TV.

However, when we have days like that — my follow up is to have the TV off the following day. This way, we are all forced to see each other, hang with each other and invest in one another. Sometimes it’s games that we play, or drawing or just NOTHING. Keep it simple.

Look at your spouses face — ask them questions. Find out what your kids love — ask more questions about it. As you ask questions — you are training them to ask questions. Life is a constant discovery — no one on this Earth knows everything — there are diamonds all around us.

Invest 💰

There is more to life than money in your .9% savings account. Which is probably the worst return on investment you can ever do. The question is, “what sort of investing are you doing in your own personal life?”

Do you invest in the coffee and skip the book? Do you invest in Netflix and skip the course to build a business? Do you invest in booze instead of boosting your own personal health?

“Where your treasure is — there will your heart be also.” This is a great line because it doesn’t lie. Go check your bank balance — you’ll see where the money is flowing. Another great line from Tony Robbins is, “energy flows where attention goes.”

I constantly check my attention and energy. I am rigorous in where our money flows. If we don’t need it — we don’t buy it. I protect our money from every single marketing agent trying to take it. I don’t f around with it.

Our money is traded time and I can’t get more time. So WHAT we do with it really f’n matters. Be vigilant with what you have — and more will be granted.
