How do you stir FAITH?
The first image that comes to mind is a cup of Dunkn Donuts coffee.
Growing up in the midwest — DD was and still is a favorite for me.
I can still remember my gramma giving me small tastes.
She would drink her coffee with cream and sugar.
Looking back, there was probably more cream and sugar than coffee.
It was amazing.
Anyway, back to the coffee.
When you add cream or sugar to coffee — you need to stir it.
Especially if you’re adding sugar.
Otherwise, the sugar just sits at the bottom.
And — NO ONE likes that.
You gotta stir to get that perfect flavor.
And yes, it takes a bit of work.
Faith seems to be a bit like that.
We are a vessel of coffee.
Faith makes our life tastes better.
Faith makes everything better.
But how do you stir Faith?
It takes effort.
It takes belief.
The Bible says, “Faith comes by hearing the Word of God.”
The Bible also says, “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen.”
Two words pop out to me here.
The first word is hearing.
The second word is hope.
Put them together and you get “hearing hope”.
Seems simple.
But how does stirring Faith play out?
I guess for me it’s hearing what the Bible says about me.
So, what does the Bible say about me?
What does the Bible say about you?
What hope do you hear in God’s Word?
What are you listening for?
Maybe start there and see how your DD coffee plays out?
